The Peninsula

Built in 1928 this hotel represents true colonial luxury with its arcade, restaurants, and overall facilities. Both my parents were set on experiencing afternoon tea there. My dad stayed in Hk for a little while after Borneo, while my mom made a quick trip right before Christmas. Served in the lobby with an orchestra playing above, you can't help but imagine beautifully dressed men in suits and women with pinned hair and red lips walking through in the 20s. The tea itself was delicious as were the treats and the service was impeccable. Although this high tea experience doesn't offer grand views like some others in Hong Kong, the setting and history makes it a must do!
