Mama came to visit and I couldn't have been more excited to show her around. On the Sunday after she arrived we took the ferry over to Macau (Macao en francais pour maman). The casino quickly gave us both a headache so we ventured into the old town. The first time I went as you may remember, I really enjoyed it but this trip was even better and not just because my mom was with me! After the ruins of St Paul we wandered up to the fortress which gave onto incredible views of the city. Inside the fortress was a museum on the history of Macau. It was really well done and definitely now a top recommendation for things to do. After our day of wandering the streets and our mini history lesson we truly felt like we understood a little better how this incredible place came to be.

I would recommend going to the fortress and Museum of Macau to anyone who actually wants to give this misjudged city a chance.
